I am having problems with certain characters (£$€) appearing in my messages as different characters (¢$%).

My application is C# Windows XP and i have CSD08.

I am recieving messages from an iSeries machine.

The data in the messages on the iSeries is displaying currency characters correctlty as $ £ €.

However when i open the channel and allow the messages to pass onto my machine they appear as ¢ $ % in my Websphere MQ message browser.

I have been experimenting with the CharacterSet property of the .net class MQMessage but i have so far not had any success in converting to the correct characters.

Am i on the right track? Can anyone offer any advice?

Do you realize that c# does not serialize strings the same way as say c or java. Strings in c# are unicode!! Hence maybe the error.

Make sure you do a get with convert.
