We have a windows platform currently at FP04. We recently encountered IY68547 which caused our production broker to abend and also truncated messages until we redeployed all our message sets that use CWF. When I recovered from that surprise, I was concerned to read about IY64348 (http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=21504) which can also cause multiple broker abends on loss of database connections.
When I expressed my worries to mqsi support, they responded with a subtle suggestion that one would naturally apply FP05, which contains the fix for IY64348 - if we didn't want to do that they would send us a fix to apply on top of FP04.
So I suppose my question is, can anyone give me a good reason to even consider applying fp05 at this early point in its lifetime? After such an eventful week, I am inclined to laugh at the suggestion, but am also worried about the stability of our production broker at fp04! Has anyone applied it? Does it work? Should I just stay where we are and get a fix built onto fp04?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Here is the list of issues that had been fixed in csd5. If you think u might run into a lot of them, you should upgrade but that's entirely up to you own judgement. I HAD to upgrade because I needed ODBC support on linux. It has not been 24 hours since I upgraded so far but it has not crashed and then again I have not ran all my test cases through it however I was able to get connected to oracle.

For a production problem, I would apply an e-fix, and start running the FP through the dev/test/prod lifecycle...

Otherwise with a new FP, I'd tend to let it age a bit, unless there were compelling features and fixes.
