Hey everyone,
I've finally got a little time to do some spring cleaning on the site. I have noticed that a few forums like MQSeries FAQ, Software Repository, Tips And Tricks, etc., have very little activity - except for people who inadvertently post an unrelated question in them.
For these reasons, I propose moving the posts in them to other places, removing the forums, and possibly adding some new ones.
I would like your input to see what makes sense.
In the past people have suggested forums like:
MQ Security
CICS
Crossworlds
Interchange Server / WBI Server Express
and there were others but I can't remember off the top of my head.
So please, reply with your support for any of the above, or suggest your own, and I'll take it all into consideration.
Thanks! _________________ Brandon Duncan

Crossworlds is Interchange server - mostly. And parts of it are Process Choreographer in WBISF - mostly.
So I think we can cover both ICS and Crossworlds in one forum. And get a few other things tagged along.
Should we have a forum dedicated to embedded messaging/the WAS 6.0 version?
Could we have a sticky at the top of each forum that said what that forum was for - to help avoid posting in the wrong forum? You know, optimisticly. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I think z/OS MQ is different enough that it could warrent its own forum. There is definitly a different set of people that ask and can answer questions on this subject.
At the very least the WMQI(MQSI) forum should be renamed to include WB-IMB somewhere in the title. I still think this busiest forum get separated into 2 - one for Administrative tasks and one for the coding and use of it - but tothers didn't think that was a good idea.
I think FAQs should stay around. But wipe it clean, and only let a moderator post topics in there, so it stays what it is meant to be. The 2 I can think of off the top of my head are Jeff's Triggering post, and my Certification Test post. There are probably others..... _________________ Peter Potkay

I would say one forum for WBI ICS and WBI Adapters and one for WBISF (Process Choreographer). |

I really would like to see WebSphere App Server forum. Even though, there might not be many users who would be interested in it right now, there is no reason why mqseries.net cannot become for was what it is for mq. I also second wbi ics forum. _________________ Mikhail Malamud

Would it make sense to split SSL out ?

I think I'd lump SSL in with security... _________________ Brandon Duncan

I'd vote for separating the WMQI/WBIMB forum into admin (design, deploys etc.) and coding (ESQL etc.) forums. |

I would love a WBI ICS and WBI Adapters forum. _________________ -Ratan |

Jørgen,
Exits have their own unique issues/considerations, but I'm not convinced there will actually be enough posts in that forum to warrant their own. Just a quick search shows about 438 topics with "exits" in them, and almost 1200 with "exit".
But hey, if other people think exits is a good one, please chime in! _________________ Brandon Duncan

Asside from a Security forum a Pub/Sub forum might be nice. _________________ Yes, I am an agent of Satan but my duties are largely ceremonial. |

It sounds like the ideas with the most support so far are:
WBI ICS and WBI Adapters forum
Security/SSL
And Peter, your idea for a z/OS makes sense from the point of view that it IS very different, but looking at the site history, there's only been 83 posts which mention z/OS. I don't think that's enough to justify a separate forum. _________________ Brandon Duncan

Do a search on "mainframe". Or on "os/390". _________________ Peter Potkay

or MVS or CICS...
