Hi everyone,
I am currently thinking about a solution/technique to achieve subscription pools in a PubSub environment. Usually a publication is sent to every subscriber who has subscribed to the given topic, resulting in n subscription messages per publication, where 'n' is the number of active (or inactive, but durable) subscribers.
Now, there might be scenarios where you want to have multiple subscribers to the same topic in way, that only one (active) subscriber actually gets/processes any given publication and others don't get the publication for that topic, for example to achieve a sort of load balancing or failover.
A simplified assumption could be that all subscribers are connected to the same queue manager, but optimally this wouldn't need to be the case.
My question now is: Has anybody come across such a requirement and has thought of a solution to implement such a behaviour as it is, TTBOMK, currently not supported in MQSI?
Any thoughts/comments/ideas are highly appreciated!
Thanks a lot for your time, thought and input,
Stefan
