Hello ,
can someone point me to how to transfer messages from one queue to another in a Queue Manager. Also if there is a command line to view messages sitting in a queue?

Thanks
SB

Well there are sample scripts called amqsput and amqsget but those are samples and not generally intended for use in Applications.

If you want to browse a Queue you can also use the amqsbcg sample.

There is no real way in WMQ to transfer a message from one QLocal to another but if you have any developers who are versed in WMQ Application Programming they should be able to code something up that will GET a message from one QLocal and PUT it to another.

The thing is, if you want a certain message in one QLocal then why not just have the message PUT there instead of in the QLocal it is currently going to?

If you want the message to go to QLOCAL.A just send them there.

there is a sample program copyq that copies from one queue to another. Though, I have to agree with Chris on this.

Unless you meant differently - which could be the case if you are new to WMQ, and your terminology or reference are messed up.
