I have installed
WMQ 5.3 CSD5
WBIMB 5.0.2
DB2 8.1 fixpack 2
MDAC 2.8
Agent controller 5.1.0
on windows 2000
I get the below error when I try to connect to configuration manager from the toolkit.
Before connecting I made sure that the Configuration Manager is available and the
userid has the correct authorities.
I also ran mqsichangeconfigmgr -l 0 which had fixed the same issue of someone I saw in
this site.
Here is what I get..
***********************************************************************************
BIP0889E An exception occured while communication with the configuration manager on
QM1.
Reason :
Websphere studio is experiencing problems communicating with the configuration manager
on QM1.
Ensure that the configuration manager is available. If so and exception still occurs,
retrun the operation after increasing configuration manager proxy retry attempts values
in preferences
details:
TopicRoot information was not received from the Configuration Manager. Either the
Configuration Manager is not available or the user 'db2admin@MWS-111-200' does not have
authority to view the object. (UUID='TopicRoot', required attribute='name')
**************************************************************************************
Thanks

Is the queue manager started?
Is the configuration manager started?
Does the configuration manager service user have the necessary permissions it needs to DB2?
Does it have the necessary permissions it needs to MQSeries?
Does the user you are logged in as have the necessary permissions to MQSeries?
Does the user you are logged in as have the necessary permissions to the Configuration Manager? Are you *sure*?
User/Machine1 is not the same as User/Machine2, nor the same as User/DOMAIN.
You likely have a security configuration issue. Implementing WBIMB security properly is about 90% of the initial installation time, in my experience.
Especially if you don't do proper planning first. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Hi Jeff,
For all your questions, the answer is YES and also I have all the components installed on my local machine.
Infact it was working absolutely fine. I reinstalled WBIMB and after that I have this issue.
I see 2 error messages in windows event viewer. They are...
***************************************************************************************
(ConfigMgr ) The Configuration Manager is not available for use.
A problem has been encountered while trying to start the Configuration Manager. The problem is not expected to be transient.
Stop the Configuration Manager using the mqsistop command. Look at previous error messages for the Configuration Manager in the event log. Determine and correct the cause of the problem before attempting to start the Configuration Manager again. If the problem persists contact your IBM support center.
*************************************************************************************
( ConfigMgr ) Java exception caught via the JNI from the ConfigurationManager.initialize class: exception text 'java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/ibm/disthub2/spi/StandardServiceImpl'.
This may be an internal error, possibly due to a faulty installation, however review of the exception text may indicate a solution. In particular, if (on NT) the text indicates that mqjbnd02 cannot be found then this suggests that your PATH environment variable has not been set up correctly following WebSphere Business Integration classes for Java installation.
Stop the Configuration Manager service and if the exception text does not allow you to solve the problem then you should contact your IBM support center.
*************************************************************************************
I tried stopping and starting configuration manager. I also tried deleting configuration manager and droping the databases and recreating everything. I still get the same error.
Thanks

Well, now it seems you have an installation problem, or a CLASSPATH or PATH problem.
Does c:\program files\IBM\DistHub\ exist? Does it have a v2 folder, containing an _uninst directory, a classes directory, and a lib directory?
If not, then you have an installation problem. If it does exist, and seems to be correct, then you have a PATH or CLASSPATH problem. Or a different installation problem. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Hello Vids & Jefflowrey,
Same situation as mentioned in this thread.....
Can you update me if anyone found a solution to this solution. If we delete the
"""""""""Does c:\program files\IBM\DistHub\ exist? Does it have a v2 folder, containing an _uninst directory, a classes directory, and a lib directory? """"""""""
the directory, will it work or do we need to do something else.
Thanks
