When an activity is created which uses a UPES and the activity is setup to START AUTOMATIC, EXIT AUTOMATIC and run UNATTENDED no work item is created. If a program isn't available to actually process the message correctly, is there any method of force finishing the activity through the windows client?
I assume that the *only* way is to process the message and send a response back to the WF input queue.
Did this feature first appear in 3.3 or 3.4?
Thanks,
David. |

The Staffless activity I believe appeard first in V3.3 (I am not 100% certain on this, but I am pretty sure it was NOT before 3.3).
There is an easy way to do the FORCE RESTART, you simply do it using the Activity Instance (as opposed to the workitem). When you FORCE RESTART the activity instance a workitem will then be created and be put on the appropriate worklist in the ready state. You can do the FORCE RESTART using the Thin Client Monitor, or write some code to use the api if you do not have access to the Thin Client monitor _________________ John McDonald

I believe you meant workitem for the next activity if it is manual. _________________ -Ratan |

Ratan... THANKS... what I really meant to say in the original reply was FORCE RESTART... I have edited the reply to indicate my original intent. _________________ John McDonald
