I don't want to have to create a remote q def for 10,000 MQe clients:

I have the following topology:

MQeMoon1QM <-------> MQeEarthQM <---------> MQSaturnQM
|
MQeMoon...QM<------+
|
MQeMoon10000QM<--+

I am using JMS/MQe on all my Moon Qmgrs. Earth is obviously bridge enabled. On the other side of Saturn is an MDB that pulls messages of a local q on Saturn. I have the communication working in the Moon(s)-->Saturn direction the way I like it. The problem is the communication from Saturn---->Moon(s). As it stands now I have a HomeServer Queue on each Moon Qmgr and a Store Queue on Earth Qmgr. Each Moon Qmgr programmatically adds it's Qmgr name to the destination list on the Store Queue on Earth. So I've got the Earth-->Moon(s) part of the Saturn--->Moon(s) communication routing done.

The problem I'm having now is the Saturn--->Earth part of the Saturn--->Moon(s) communication routing. It works if I create 10,000 remote q defs, one for each Moon QMgr, but I don't want to have to do this. There must be a way around this. The MDB takes the JMS replyTo field from the Moon request message and uses this to send the response back.

Any ideas how I can avoid creating 10,000 remote q defs.

This is more of an MQe question than a Java/JMS question.

And I don't know MQe well enough to answer it.

But in regular MQ, you could get around this by using MQ Clustering.

You might review the name resolution processing of MQ as well, you might be able to avoid using remote queue definitions.

Yes. I have also posted this in the MQ Everyplace forum, but this forum is much more active so I thought I'd get a quicker response.

Probably not. But you will annoy some people by double posting.

Cheers,
