Hello All,
I know that this is an oft repeated question in this forum. But I have a set of requirements and none of the previous messages gave me a clear answer to this. Here goes..
I need to set the MQMD UserIdentifier to a specific value [X12Y34]. JMS send() sets the userIdentifier to 'mqm' automatically, I dont see a way by which I can set any value using this function.
One of answers that was mentioned was to use the createQueueConnection() method passing the userid and password. My question is whether this would accept an user that does not exist on the system at all. Creating a user for this on the OS is not an option for me.
Given the above, is it possible to set this atleast via Java MQ APIs if the user id is not present on the sending system?
Any clarity on these would be much appreciated.
Thanks

No. MQ has to valid the UserID to "something" and that something is the OS for Solaris.
You want to buy a car to drive around but you won't get inside!!!! Come on.

I am not certain but it might be possible in client mode.
Of course the qmgr would need to have the authorizations set for the usr.
Usually only possible for the group in Unix. Don't know how it is being handled if the user is not defined on the box the qmgr runs on.
Enjoy |

Hi,
Well, you could use 'Alternate UserID' for regular MQ but I don't think that feature/function is available for JMS applications.
