I am trying to run the fmcsiyes.exe file from the workItem.....

I want it to run automatically, but the problem i'm facing is the workItem is in Ready state snd will run only when i manually start it......

I have made the Start condition as automatic......

What do i do to make it pop up automatically.....or in other words, how to change the state of a workItem as Running automatically ( not through WorkFlow API).........??????

Open a command window
Type fmcsiyes.exe
What happens when you do this? If something comes up, then workflow also will pop up the program at this activity of the process.
If it says it is not recognized, then put this executable in the PATH.

I think these are required
PEA should be running (if you start the standard fat client, then PEA will be started)
In Buildtime, under the implementation tab, drill down to programs and select this particular program. In the program properties under windows tab
Path and file name should be fmciyes.exe
Start in foreground should be checked
Inherit environment should be checked
Style should be visible

I noticed that if i manually start the workFlow instance the fmcsiyes.exe is starting automatically(it is in the first workItem after starting the instance)......

But i have to start the workFlow with a JAVA application......there i am doing a es.logon2( , , ,) and a es.signOff()

This is creating a problem....the workItem comes to ready state......

One of the pdf's said that if the user is not logged on at the time the workItem is supposed to start,a manual start will have to be done....This i found was true.....i manually started and the program ran.......

I have tried not logging off in the JAVA application but no respite......

I also tried starting that workItem from the JAVA application itself.....but it tells me I'm not Authorized

I tried making fmcsiyes.exe a support tool and starting it, but i get a "The PEA USERID.FMCGRP is not available"

Please help.......

For java implementation of a program activity there is a sample in
<WMQwf Install Root>\SMP\java\actimpl

FDL also is supplied along with the program.

For me it is in C:\Program Files\IBM WebSphere MQ Workflow\SMP\java\actimpl
