Hey all
Cleint has a wierd problem and I know we all love those sort
For 6 months now they have been running 5.2 on iSeries 825 v5R2
Suddenly 2 days ago it stopped working and to solve (?) the problem they downloaded and installed all the csds and made sure all was up to date.
Once the csds etc had been installed they were able to start up MQ and all seemed fine. However, the channels were failing between an NT box and teh iSeries. The solution to this was to recreate the channels
Have been studying tehre logs and have come across a strange entry in the shutdown scripts
"the requested heap space operation is invalid" with a msg id of mch6902
have looked up the MCH on IBM and got the following
DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM FIXED FOR APAR SE16378 :
-----------------------------------------------
Server binding list not being used correctly --- The first item
in the list is attempted to be used for each other item in the
lis t- that causes a tcp206e with rc3420 followed by MCH6902,
and C2M1212. The last 2 are caused by trying to access deleted
memory.
CORRECTION FOR APAR SE16378 :
-----------------------------
When we looped through the server bind list each successful bind
removes the address from
our data structure, but wasn't incrementing the current pointer
after the erase. The MCH6902,
and C2M1212 are caused by trying to access deleted memory.
This is a new problem for v5r3. It cannot have occured in
previous releases, because we had a
problem with C++ STL(Standard Template Library). No prior
version uses STL. They use something
similar IOC(IBM Open Classes). We were forced to change due to
withdrawn support for IOC.
is interesting that the statement is "It cannot have occured in
previous releases", well this is a previous release
