We are looking at setting up a security exit on the SVRCONN channel to stop unauthorized users connecting to our QMGR (V5.3) running on iSeries (AS/400). Could someone please guide me to any resoure(s) or help me get a sample exit in place ?
TIA,
Hassan |

One of your best resources is right here on this website.
Perform a search for "security exit". There are dozens of threads that discuss this topic.
There is also a security exit called BlockIP2 that oz1ccg has made available for general use. Take a look, it may save you some time. |

Hi,
If you are looking to simply block by IP or UserID then you should try out BlockIP2. But you will need to compile the C code for ISeries.
Capitalware has built a MQ 'Authenticate User' security exit solution. It is in private beta testing right now. Any user trying to connect to a channel will need to input their UserID and Password (and Domain name for Windows) for the remote system.
Initially, the server-side security exit will be supported on AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Windows, & Linux. Followed by z/OS (mainframe) and some time next year for ISeries.
I'm hoping to start a semi-public beta test in the near future.
Regards,
