hi

I started the queue manager and the config manager and both of them starting correctly but whenever I try to connect to the queue manager from the broker toolkit I get a message error

[b] "BIP0915E Toolkit is unable to communicate with the config manager"
Reason:
"MQSERIES QM_ibm_mxms8pq3f can not be reached, Ensure it is available and retry the operation"[/b]

I started both the config manager and queue manager and its listener and even the broker and I still can not connect

I checked the event log viewer on the operating sys (XP pro) and I got the following message


[b]Event Type: Error
Event Source: WebSphere MQ
Event Category: None
Event ID: 9213
Date: 12/11/2004
Time: 9:49:25 PM
User: N/A
Computer: MS8d
Description:
A communications error for TCP/IP occurred.

An unexpected error occurred in communications.

The return code from the TCP/IP (ioctlsocket) call was 10038 (X'2736'). Record these values and tell the systems administrator.[/b]

I just had this problem with XP

Turns out to be an issue with Winsock2 corruption

This solution from MSoft worked:
