For purposes of discussion, I am using a Wondows XP machine (we'll call it WinXP) trying to monitor queues on an Unix box (we'll call it UniBox). I have MQ up and running and can put things in and what not with MQ, so I know MQ is working fine if I do everything from the UniBox. Here's where I run into problems. I am trying to use MO71 to do a client connection to the UniBox from my WinXP where the MO71 is installed. I cannot seem to "make the connection". The documentation isn't really specific on "how" to set up the security pieces. I have had my ID added to the UniBox as part of the mqm group because I understand that it will use my ID to try and access the UniBox. I am getting a 2035 Not Authorized when trying to connect. Do I need something else (like MQ client) installed on my WinXP or something? I am a bit confused on how the whole thing does its connection as you have to have a userid and password to get on the UniBox to begin with, then you have to be in a group. With the 2035 error, it leads me to believe I have made it to the box, but can't get to the queues. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

The QM caches its Security info at startup. So if you add a member to the O/S group, MQ don't know about it.
Bounce the QM, or if you are version 5.3, issue REFRESH SECURITY from a runmqsc session. _________________ Peter Potkay

That did the trick~ (We're running 5.3, so just refreshed security). Thanks for all of your help! |
