In the process of installing WBIMB V5 on W2K. Have the DB2 V8, base WBIMB code and CSD03 installed already. While attempting to install IBM Agent Controller:
Receiving "Error 1920 - Service IBM Agent Controller (IBM Agent Controller) Failed to start. Verifiy you have sufficient privileges to start system services"
Userid I am Installing under has "ADMINISTRATOR" authority.
Anyone run into this before??? AND how-to resolve??? _________________ Ralph Beckers

I would do the following...
if you have configmgr, broker running on that machine, stop them.
also, go to windows services and stop IBM Websphere MQ and see under which user that service is running?
administrator should also be part of group MQM.
now, open task manager and go to processes and see if any services running for broker, you should not see any process that starts with 'bip'. ex: 'bipbroker.exe'. stop them.
and try installation... |

Brought down MQSeries service, as you recommended, as well as ensuring that ADMINISTRATOR was a member of MQM. This is an install on a reimaged WINDOWS XP Pro server so the weren't any prior WMQI services or processes running. Experienced same Error 1920.
Is it possible that IBM Agent Controller needs to be installed PRIOR to WBIMB?

I didn't specified the correct path to my Java runtime environment (c:\programme\IBM\java131\bin in my case).
Using the correct value the installation runs fine.
Hope this helps you.

Nope, it does not matter when you install Agent controller..
please check if the MQ Series installed under same user a.k.a administrator.
MQ should run under same user. |

We've verified that there is but one (1) JRE on this server (which is WIN XP Pro) @IBM JVM 1.3.1 level. We've told the install to look for the JRE (java.exe) in both c:\program files\ibm\bin, as well as c:\program files\ibm\jre\bin. Also ensured both those dir strings were included in front of PATH and CLASSPATH statements. SAME ERROR.... Ralph _________________ Ralph Beckers

Attempting install from "mqadmin" userid, in all cases. Has "administrator" authority.
