Hi,
I am having problem installing the latest version on WMQI. I have installed DB2, the service packs and fix packs required. When iam trying to install WMQI, it says system doesn't meet the software prerequistes which are:
Microsoft windows 2000 + SP3 ( but i have SP4, the latest version)
MDAC, 2.7+ SP1 ( i have 2.8 version)
MQseries, 5.3.1 ( i have MQseries 5.3.0 CSD 05)
All i have is equivalent or latest version only, but still it gives the error not sufficient prerequistes....Could anyone suggest ...it is very urgent.
Thanks for any advise in advance. |

If you're sure you meet the requirements, just ignore the warnings and carry on with the install.

The problem is iam not able to continue. It is not allowing to proceed since the prereq software are not properly installed........
I rollbacked MDAC 2.8 and installed 2.7 version. But when i restarted it gave windows 2000 problem saying some files r required to work properly so insert windows 2000 server CD. Right now iam working on it and once it is done i have to try installing WMBIMB. |

You can safely ignore the MDAC level warning. I would reinstall 2.8.
You are likely having problems with the MQ level.
Make sure, among other things, that you have installed the Java classes. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

i have solved the problem of windows 2000.
I tried to install and it gives an error of
- unresolved dependency: MDAC prerequisite has an unresolved dependency on MDAC version 2.7sp1
- unresolved dependency: Java messaging prerequisite has an unresolved dependency on webspher MQ version 5.3 java messaging component.
I checked into the lib directory for java classes and found there are no jar files ....since I have 5.3.0.5 MQ version, it didn't allow to install ma88 package so i just added the required jars from that directory to the lib directory and also created a bin directory and added bin directory files from the ma88 directory files.....
I ran MDAC com checker and it shows versionof 2.5.
I installed MDAC 2.7 and it gave sucessfully installed. I rebooted the system and ran MDAC com checker, still com checker shows same version of 2.5.
I don't know why MDAC installation is not overriding previous version. until MDAC level is not proper i guess installation won't work.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks in advance. |

You should rerun the MQ Installer, or select MQ in the Add/Remove Programs , and select a CUSTOM install, and then select the Java Messaging Component.
MA88 level classes are not good things to mix with 5.3. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Thanks alot for immediate response.
I tried to install MDAC 2.7 again and this time it was succesful.
I tried to rerun MQseries but since i have CSD05, it was not able to run it. It gave error.
I have QMgrs and queues with cluster environment are configured on the sytem. Is there any other way....or do you suggest to remove the latest CSD05 and re install MQ with java components??
Thanks. |

You have to stop all QMGRs running before you install/modify MQ.
Stop all QMGRs and MQ Service. Start the installer for MQ and it will say modify and then you can select custom I guess and then install Java/JMS feature |

Looks like so
Uninstall CSD05 and install Java/JMS and install CSD again. You should try CSD07 maybe |

Again problem ...
In the installation wizard, for the custom option, wheni select Java messaging and deselect other options( deselection there means it specifies don't install this option and remove if exists) I am not sure by doing so, it uninstall other things which r installed or just add the feature which we have selected?? so what i did is in the custom option select all options except client....then continued the process...after sometime it rollbacked the installation saying wizard was interrupted and couldn't proceed with the installation. I tried twice but still same problem.
Not sure what the problem is. Could you tell me how to proceed now?? |

I have one more doubt......if the version installed on my machine and the MQ iam trying to install are same level, then the option of add/modify should come right??? but for me the options showed are update and custom. This implies the CD iam having is higher level I have on my machine right????
The version on the CD says 5.3 CSD01
the version on my machine is 5.30.0
which means both CSD levels are different......
means on both, CD and machine are at same level???
Any suggestion would be of great help.
Thanks. |
