It is used to pass a variety of meta-data about the message, mainly for purposes of Rules and Formatting.
So, if for instance I have some meta-data that controls how a message should be routed through my system, then it is a good practice to put that information into a known header like the RFH, rather than constructing my own meta-data header and using it.
JMS uses the MQRFH to store "properties" that do not exist in the MQMD, and pass those around.
Pub/Sub uses the MQRFH to include topic information, as well as to create publish and subscribe commands. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general.
