Hi on WindowsNT i am not able to start the listener.

It gives me the error
"Service could not be started. The process terminated with return code 20(AMQ4128)"

Can any one suggest a solution.

Thanks

Search this forum for error 20 and you would find a bunch of hits.

Find out if you are trying to start it when it is already running or if there is some error starting it. If there is one, it would be logged to the error logs. Check for any corresponding fdcs as well.

Cheers
Kumar

If 5.3 fixpack (or csd!) 06 then make sure you apply the interim fix, then change the properties of the listener to actually have a port / protocol etc.

If an earlier fixpack, look in the taskmgr outputs to see if runmqlsr is actually running - the service has been known to forget it. In this case get to at least 5.3 fixpack 5 (or if 5.2.x, a late csd).

Jason,

I'm on a XP Pro box with WMQ 5.3 CSD6 and I have a similar problem: if I delete the listener that is not working properly and I recreate a new one, then it works; the first time I reboot the machine, it is not able to start anymore (AMQ4128 Reason code 10) and if I look for the listener properties, I'm not able to see the port number anymore.

From your reply I assume I have to "apply the interim fix" but what does this mean?

Should I move to a higher CSD ( 7 or 8 )?

Thanks in advance for any hint,

Yes, 7 has it fixed, or apply the interim fix, which is downloadable from the 'Interim fix' section (top selection) of the fixpack download site:

Thank you Jason, I'm downloading CSD 7 right now.

Cheers
