I am having a problem with ODBC connection using MQSI. I am loosing my connection to the Oracle database when I am trying to connect to the database after a period of time.
I get an ODBC -1 error saying not connected to ORACLE or end-of-file error.
when I check the ODBC connection from ORACLE NETWORK ADMINISTRATION ODBC Test It works fine but it dosen't work from MQSI.
If I restart the BROKER it starts working fine but I get the problem back after a day or two when the application is not used for a period of time.
I am using Windows NT , Oracle ODBC driver , Oracle 8.1.6.
We are trying to move to MERANT ORACLE ODBC Driver Does this solve the problem?
Any feed back would be appreciated .
thanks in Advance.

This is almost certainly due to the quality of the ODBC driver you are using to connect through to Oracle.
We have experienced similar intermittent problems when connecting from our broker to mainframe DB2.

We had a similar problem with Sun Solaris 8 and Oracle 8.1.7, using the Merant ODBC driver.
We received an emergency fix from IBM (PMR 40440) which seems to have solved the problem.
Regards,
Nick. |
