I am failiar with MQ on Windows, but new to AIX.
How do you get the listener and the command server to start automatically when the queue manager comes up on an AIX system ?
This is easy in Windows, but I haven't figured out how to do it in AIX. |

There is no option to start the listener and command server automatically when the qmgr starts up on AIX. You have to manage it yourself, with a startup script which starts the qmgr, then the listener, then the command server. Note that the listener does not have to be stopped when the qmgr is stopped. |

you have to configure the listener in
/etc/services &
/etc/inetd.conf
A good information on how to configure is provided in MQ Cluster manual in the initial or second chapter.
Go through it and it's worth a reading. |

Except that from 5.3, the inetd method of starting the listener is not the recommended way. runmqlsr is.
