I was hoping someone could specify the characteristics of the -complete option when supplied to the mqsideploy script. We are setting up some create and deploy scripts that will be called by a 'master' ant script. Assume I have have a bar file deployed to execution group abc123 with the following contents: MessageFlow.msgflow and MessageSet.mset. I made changes to the .msgflow but did not change the .msgset. If I were to specify the contents of my new bar file to be MessageFlow.msgflow and MessageSet.mset in the deploy script and DID NOT specify -complete, what would happen to the MessageSet.mset. Would it recognize that the mset had not been modified and leave the original contents, or would it overlay the existing with the new .mset (assuming I was deploying tot he same execution group)? Thanks for the help. |

Hi,
The -complete option relates to topology deploys. -complete will force a complete redeploy of the whole topology instead of a delta deploy of only the parts of the topology that have changed.
If you deploy a BAR file then this will ALWAYS be a complete deploy of the contents of that BAR file. In other words every resource in that BAR file will be deployed/redeployed.
regards,

Thank you very much for your response. If you don't mind, would you please clarify the following: "If you deploy a BAR file then this will ALWAYS be a complete deploy of the contents of that BAR file. In other words every resource in that BAR file will be deployed/redeployed.
" I am assuming that this is in reference to the -complete option. If I Don't include the -complete option, will only incremental changes be applied to the new bar (assuming it already exists and is currently deployed). If the .mset file did not change, for example, and was part of our deploy script, would it overlay the existing .mset even though they were the same?
Thanks again. |
When you deploy a BAR file ALL msgsets and msgflows will be redeployed.
Regardless of whether they have changed.
As I stated previously the -complete option does NOT relate to deploying BAR files. It is for topology deploys. |
