I am using IBM MQSeries for messaging in my application now I have to shift all the created queues and quemanagers from one MQSeries instance to another one. So can anyone of you suggest me a way to export the data from one instace and import it to the second instance. I mean can we create the scripts for the first instance which can directly run on the sencond instance to populate the data.

Look at the support pacs like save QMGR (MS03) and save auth MS63.
The first one saves the MQ object definitions into a file which you can use to recreate on the other machine. The second one is for authorities.
This is the support pac link

If you use the save qmgr script MS03 make sure that u are at appropriate CSD level ( reqd is CSD 6 or above). Older version of MS03 wont work for CSD 6 or above.

I've been told they do work.
However you might want to start it from the command prompt with a -? parameter to get the right syntax for the different versions of MQ.

Thanks

fjp_saper,
I did try out the older version of MS03 on MQ V 5.3 CSD 7. It does not work satisfactorily. It errors out giving an error of some kinda PCF error Integer 78 . when I see Queue attributes on CSD 7 i see NPMCLASS attribute which was not there bfore CSD 6. I think that is the reason I was getting that PCF error. When I got the latest version of MS03 it worked like a charm..

Thanks,
~Om

Sorry my mistake for not reading your post carefully.
I had thought you meant using the latest pack to backup qmgrs before CSD06 and not the otherway round.

My apologies.
