Hi

I'm trying to connect to a queue manager on a Solaris box via an MQSeries client connection.

I'm getting 2059.

I am generally familair with MQSeris clients; I have used amqsputc on previous occasions and am debugging some Java code which does connect via MQSeries client.

I've read through the nptes and have channel name set to SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN; I have set the connection name to 172.xx.xx.xx(1414).

On the server box, I started the command server strmqcsv.

Anything else I should check ?

on the server box, start the listener.

The command server is only needed if you want to remotely administer the queue managers on the server.

The listener is already running.

Has anyone got this GUI to run...if so do you set up via the command-line instead of the GUI ?

you don't set it up using the commandline, it's a GUI ...

Look for errors on the server.

Yes, there are command-line parameters for the executable. Why do you deny this ? See page 60 of the manual.

I think mine is a more general problem of 2059, which I am also getting when I run amqsputc.

Yup, if you get 2059 with amqsputc then it has nothing to do with setting up MO71...

I'd better just say I got the connection to work shortly after the guru's reply above.
Now to get it to work with a virtual IP address, as the queue manager will be in a VERITAS cluster...
