We are using the following process:
We open a queue (bind to it as it is in an MQ Cluster) with an application running on Windows. This VB application sets the first message MF flags to 'message in group'; however, on the put message options, the app is not specifying LOGICAL_ORDER. The app runs through several messages in the unit of work, marking them all as 'message in group'. On the last message, it is then marked as 'last in group'. A question was brought up that since we are not using the Put Logical Order option, is there any chance that these messages will be placed on the queue in random order....ie, send first message, then second, but when you look on the queue, will the second message beat the first message to the queue..
Is this a possibility?
Thanks,
B |

I believe it is possible if there are multiple paths to the destination queues. Can your receiving application use MQGMO_LOGICAL_ORDER option on MQGET call? Will that help? For more details please refer to Application Programming Guide. _________________ Kiran
