Hi
Any idea if I can use the capacity planning tool specified at IBM support pack (IP03) http://www-306.ibm.com/software/integration/support/supportpacs/product.html#wmqi
can be used to determine the capacity of WBIMB version 5.x.
The performance report specified at same website are mostly done using 4CPU machine and if one want performance report for single CPU machine, Is it recommended to just divide the measurement by 4 .?
Thanks

There is (or was) an IBM spreadsheet that could calculate the number of CPUs needed for given message flows.
I have found MQSI performance (version 2.02) to be very linear.
If anything a single CPU would have a higher throughput that 1/4ths of a 4 CPU machine, so if you divided by 4 you are taking a cautious approach. |

All the numbers specified in these supportpacs should be considered as guideline numbers. There are other factors that could affect your capacity, For example, Volume, SLA, number of message flows running on the box, etc. It's always a good idea to develop a prototype and test it out to find the actual performance numbers. Results from this test can help you in deriving other numbers. _________________ Kiran
