We are journaling some msgs (the msgs are either XML or XMLNS) into queues in between flows for QA purpose.

When WBIMB is running on HP-UX, all the messages in this journal queue are taking the CCSID of the QM, except for this message which has a CCSID of 819.

But when we test it on a NT box, the "culprit" message takes the CCSID of the QM like the rest of the messages in the journal queue.

I have tested the flows on a couple of NT boxes, but i am only facing this problem on HP-UX, so i was thinking this problem may be to do something with the HP-UX env and not due to our msg flows.

Please advice,

Regards,
Hari

Where are the messages originating from.?
Is the format of the message defined as STRING?
Is the CONVERT option on the channel from the originating QMGR and the broker QMGR set to YES?

If not then you should

Presently i am using a single queue manager all through....also the CM and the broker are using the same QM.

Also the format of this msgs is set to MQSTR.

Infact we are not setting the CCSID to 819 (or any other number) anywhere in our msg flows.

I am not a WBIMB person so I bow out. Is journaling some WBIMB concept?

I am a bit confused on where the message is coming from that starts a message flow?

No.

I take it to mean that he is inserting the contents of the message into a database.

I believe this term is used when making a backup copy of the messages (could be on a different queue).
