This *sounds* like IY49192, but that was fixed for 5.3 only (that doesnt mean it doesnt apply to 5.2 though, just it was never fixed on it).
However, I also found the following comment:
Quote: |
When we see XY324192 FFSTs from MQ 5.2, these mean that a
semop call has failed. The semop call was trying to operate
upon the Subpools Lock semaphore.
These FFSTs appear most often with an errno of EINVAL in the
case where a user has removed the subpools lock semaphore
using ipcrm.
The fix in this case is either (1) do not remove that semaphore
or (2) end all MQ apps and the queue manager before removing
the semaphore.
We have now seen another reason for XY324192 / EINVAL to appear:
one can see, in reading the HP-UX or Sun Solaris man pages, that
EINVAL can also appear if the current process has now specified
SEM_UNDO on too many semaphores using semop.
This limit is actually a configurable kernel parameter on HP-UX.
and Sun Solaris. The parameter is semume on HP-UX and it is
seminfo_semume on Solaris. When the customer changed semume from
10 (too low) to 256 (as recommended in both QB books).
Even on AIX the reason "The number of individual semaphores for
which the calling process requests a SEM_UNDO flag would exceed
the limit" is listed as a cause of EINVAL being given from semop.
However I can't find any kernel parameter information for semume
on AIX, or any information on how this parameter can be altered.
I believe the kernel is mostly self-tuning on AIX (though again I
don't know of a reference to documentation for this assertion) so
I would be surprised if this problem were to be seen on AIX.
Finally, the above-described limit is not listed as a reason for
EINVAL on Linux, so these symptoms should never occur on Linux.
