Hi,
I have to access an Oracle v9.2 database with WMQI v2.1 that is installed on AIX v5.2 with DB2 v8.1.4.
I have read that I can use an ODBC driver that came with WMQI (UKOR818).
My question is, do I have to install any other software (any tool that came with the Oracle software) to accomplish this connection and/or configuration I have to do in “odbc.ini” file.
Any help would appreciated. |

That's correct.

Just the Oracle client.

- ensure tnsnames.ora has been configured properly
- issue the mqsi_setupdatabase command
- define the environment variables (i.e. LD_LIBRARY_PATH, ORACLE_HOME, ODBCINI, etc...)
- establish a symbolic link, if XA coordination is a requirement
Additionally, the minimum configuration must be WMQI v.2.1.5 and MQ v5.3.4 to access Oracle v9.2 databases from AIX v5.2. |
