Can someone advise me on how to update flows that are in midstream? Scenarios might include customers adding or deleting parts of an order that causes the flows to take different paths or perhaps even makes it wait until other conditions are met.

What is considered best practice to deal with this approach?

Thanks,Nathan

This can not be done easily in MQWF. MQWF is made to run models that do not change for each instantiation. It is a "production" workflow system, what you are looking for is more of an "ad hoc" workflow system

The best way to deal with this in MQWF would probably be with Subprocesses whose names are specified in the container. However, if you truly need ad hoc processing this is going to be very difficult to model.

thanks john.

So do you think that there are other suitable products out there for this, or is workflow still a valid candidate, just not done very easily with it?

Sure. I think at this point we are simply going to re-think our design and model accordingly.
