Is there any way that I can set a field or variable to the value of the broker's QM CCSID within a Compute node without obtaining it from an 'InputRootProperties' or 'InputRootMQMD', so that I can use it inside the same Compute node, e.g. for BLOB processing? The MQCCSI_ DEFAULT and _INHERIT settings are not resolved until MQOuput time, which is too late. |

I can't see any way of doing this.
As a standard, I just use CCSID 1208 for *everything*, this is UTF-8, which can represent any unicode character in 1,2,3 or 4 byte lengths (common characters <128 ASCII are single byte). UTF-8 is also the standard coding for XML. |
