If I'm already running Control Center on my desktop, connecting to our V2.1 product, can I also install the workbench for V5 on the same desktop, or do I need to uninstall my 2.1 Control Center first? Can they co-exist?
I did find this on page 63 of the Migration Guide (ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/software/integration/wbibrokers/docs/messagebroker_Migration.pdf):
"No other components of these products, or any previous releases of these products, can participate in a Version 5.0 broker domain. This means that you must migrate all your Version 2.1 Control Center, Configuration Manager, and User Name Server components at the same time, but you can migrate your Version 2.1 brokers in stages. "
and, on the same page: "On a UNIX or Windows system, you cannot install
any Version 5.0 product code if there is Version 2.1 product code on the system. You must first uninstall all the Version 2.1 product code."
My sitation is this: I'm installing V5.0 on a "development" machine which will be separate from my existing test machines. I'd like the developers to kick the tires on V5, but they still need to be able to access their V2.1 world. Is there any way I can "get around" this without putting 2 desktops machines in the developers cubes, or having them use Terminal Services to connect directly to the V5 lab machine? _________________ Cheers,
