Hi,

- because the /.../@SYSTEM/nodelock (containing the mqs version) doesnt exist on a client platform
- nor the mqver utility available on server only

how to find out the exact version of client mqseries installed ?

See if you have the dspmqver command, this is a clone of mqver
shipped in the base component in order to solve this problem, it was
introduced in 5.3 csd 3 or 4 , otherwise try pkginfo -l mqm
