Need help with DB2 and Z/OS 5.3.1. I am trying to config the neccessary
def's and would greatly appreciate any help....

I've received this week a CBPDO with the V5.3.1 & i think that on an upgrade from V5.3.0 is not necesary make nothing with DB2.( I'm reading the Documentation).
When we upgrade from v5.2 to v5.3.0 we needed redef. the TableSpaces
& Bind/Rbind all the Plans (& new Plans).
If you are doing a new Installation the System Setup Guide Chapter 2 Task 8 have the Taks to do. Samples are well & a little help from the DB2 adm. help you to customize all the task.

The Shared Queues have a performance from 1 to 5 over QMgr Queues.
(Sorry Queue Shared, the Shared Queue is an IMS concept)
