Hi,
I have setup 2 machines for testing purposes (win2k Adv. server on each box and MQ 5.3). Both machines are in the same WORKGROUP (no domains involved).
Question 1
Does MQ Server requires to be in a domain?
I cannot remotely manage a queue manager or join one of the machines to the cluster on the other machine. I alway get:
"Access not authorized. You are not authorized to perform this operation (AMQ4036)."
Here are some of the things I have tried and tested but no luck:
-added the MUSR_MQADMIN to the Administrators group on both boxes
-Run the IBM MQ service under the Administrator account on both machines.
Thanks for your help,
Sas |

Neither of the things you tried are appropriate.
The issue you are facing is that MACHINEA/User1 is not defined to MACHINEB. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Are you talking about the account I use to log in to manage MQ? Both machines already have the same account with the same password.
Can you please be more specific?
Thanks,

MachineA/User1 is different than MachineB/User1, even if they have the same username ("User1") and the same password.
This is basic Windows security.
If you want to authorize MachineA/User1 on MachineB, then you need to authorize MachineA/User1, and not MachineB/User1. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
