Hello,
I know this is for mqseries only forum. But wanted to find out if any one on this forum can help me on it, as I am a frequent user of this forum
I have to print a tiff image on a printer connected to Mainframe. The
printer understands only AFP font. So what I am doing is:
1. Convert TIFF to AFP format on PC using AFP driver for windows
2. FTP that to mainframe and print it
But the problem I am facing is that the file to be FTPed is too huge.
Because, the tiff image is small but the converte AFP file is too huge
and is six times the tiff image.
My question is , can I FTP tiff file and convert to AFP on mainframe
MVS(OS) and then print it. If I can, please let me know what need to
be available on mainframe to do it?
Thanks in advance

You are right this is not MQ question. Maybe you can send it through MQ - if your MVS has MQ. If it is bigger than the supported msg size for MVS MQ.. you can segment it. Works for your future requirements too.
