Hi,
I need to replicate my server which runs MQ Server 5.3 to another server at our Disaster Recovery site. We will have a dedicated DR line with our client's DR server and our DR server.
1. Is is possible to repliate the server at our data center to our DR site?
2. If so, what is the best solution for minimum down time?
Thank you for your help.
Regards,
Sasan |

Install the same version of MQSerie on your DR server and creat a DR MQManager.
On you prod server do "saveqmgr -m <MQManagerName> -f <FileName> and use this file to creat the objects in your DR MQManager.
runmqsc -v < Filename > out <MQManagerName(if it is not the defalault>
View the out file to make sure the syntax is correct. If you see no errors at the bottom of this file then run the same command without the -v to creat the objects.
That is basically how to do it. There are a lot of considerations depending on the relationship your Prod MQManager has with Remote MQManagers and whether you name your MQManager the same as your Prod MQManager. CONNAMES will have to be changed, SDR/RCVR Channels may need to be created etc. etc. so you will have to edit the file you created with the saveqmgr command. _________________ Yes, I am an agent of Satan but my duties are largely ceremonial. |

Dude,
I really appreciate your help. I am completely new to MQ Server and I was told setup a DR site and also cluster our IBM MQ and BIztalk servers. As long as I know it is possible, then it should be fine.
Thanks again!
