Hi
I wonder what is the latest Websphere MQ release on distributet platforms (HPUX, Sun Solaris and W2K) 5.3 or 5.3.1?
On IBM website I only find 5.3 but when talking to people they talk about 5.3.1.

Regards
EB

there was a refresh of the GA code in Feb 2003 including FP1 and a 'revision' mixup where it was called 5.3.1 instead of 5.3.0.1 (the last .1 being the fixpack level)

I have also seen a GA code refresh (don't know the month) including FP2.
(5.3.0.2)

latest major/minor release is 5.3 latest fixpack is 6 , which "would" make 5.3.0.6 although I have never seen that number used.

Hope this helps.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. This means there is no such thing as version 5.3.1.
The best solution would then be to install v.5.3 and CSD06, correct?
Does CSD06 include the previous CSD's or do I have to install everyone?

Regards

Fixpacks (or CSDS for the older terminology!) are cumulative so you only need to apply the most recent. However, always look for any interim fixes when you take a fixpack, and for fp6 there is an important one for linear logging and windows services.

History of 5.3...

There was originally the GA version, which we referred to as GA1

However, testing continued and new platforms were added (eg. XP) and a follow on version where manufacturing was updated. This is referred to as GA2, and Fixpack / CSD01 was also shipped to update GA1 to the same codebase

Fixpack 2 was never shipped (cant remember why). I suspect this was due to another manufacturing refresh due to a license change, but thats a guess.

Fixpack 3,4,5,6 have all shipped to date.... Logic dictates that the next one will be 7

There is an official 5.3.1, but it is only for z/OS.
Distributed platforms only go up to 5.3.0.x.
