MQ 5.3 on Win2K, CSD1 or 5
Installing MQ via a batch file with a line
Msiexec /i "D:\WMQ53\IBM WebSphere MQ.msi" /qn USEINI="D:\WMQ53\Response_File.txt" /l*v D:\WMQ53\log.log STARTSERVICE="no" STARTTASKBAR="no"
This makes MQ services (e.g. amqhasmn, amqzxma0) run under the ID of the user who installed it; qmgr does not start on reboot despite 'automatic' attribute.
Manual install (clicking on the .msi file and answering the qq) makes these services run, correctly, under MUSR_MQADMIN.
(We have hundreds of installs to do worldwide, and must automate.)
How to fix this? (We have not investigated setmqaut.) |

A few points - start service and start taskbar command line options dont work, so post-install, laucnh NET STOP "IBM MQSeries" and then sleep for 60 seconds to give the shared memory processes time to terminate - This is assuming you want to install and then apply the latest fixpack.
As to your other problem, whats the contents of Response_File.txt? Are you running the prepare MQSeries wizard (amqmjpse) or preventing it? If preventing it, are you subsequently running it? Paste in the amqmjpse.log file as well...
To answer possible subsequent questions, can you also answer these...
Is your machine a domain controller, server or standalone machine? Which o/s (server or prof)? If in a domain, is it an active directory or nt4 domain? If AD, was it originally an nt4 domain migrated or a fresh AD domain? |
