hi
to setup a proof of concept, we need urgent informations/dokumentations about how to configure a db-connection (odbc?) from z/os to a sun-server with an oracle-db. and the connection have to be refer from wmqi 2.1 (e.g. in a compute node)
so, does anybody have any links, redbooks or any other information/experience?
many thanx for feedback! |

The button at the top of this page, called "Documentation", will take you to the main IBM site for MQSeries Family documentation. From there, you will have to navigate to the documenation for WMQI 2.1, and look for the books on Administration and Installation and Planning for the platforms you're interested in. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

hi jeff
your answer is always the same...
i know this documentation!! and i guess you too. so you know also, the reading of this heavy ibm-documentation with tousands of pages is very hard work!
and until now, i did not find any helpful information.
i posted this topic to find somebody, which has made some experience with this topic. or to get a pagenumber of ibm-book! |

Yes. That's why, rather than just saying "The documentation is here. Go read all of it", I said "Go read the specific manuals that will talk about the things you're trying to do".

But, it's really going to be faster for you to look through the books to find the page number, than for you to post a message here and wait for someone to give you back a page number.
Besides which, it seems like the WebSphere MQ Integrator Z/OS Customization and Administration Guide is not available online, only for purchase in hardcopy.
So unless someone has a copy of the book already, they can't find the page number for you.
But it should be fairly easy to find the instructions for setting up an ODBC datasource on Z/OS for use with WMQI. Once you do that, unless Integrator on Z/OS is really strange, you just refer to the ODBC datasource the same way you do any other datasource in WMQI. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
