Hi,

Is there's a possible way to auto reset the channel sequence number.

Let’s say we have:

1. AppQmgr
2. QMA (active)
3. QMB(passive)

Active/Passive are supported on HACMP environment

AppQmgr communicates with QMA.

If QMA fails then QMB qmgrs is activated. Hence, the sequence number would become different when AppQmgr connects to QMB.

How do handle such scenarios. Auto resetting on sequence numbers can really help

auto resetting channel sequences can cause serious loss of messages!

if you have HACMP I assume you are on AIX, the passive backup on the 'other' machine Qmgr is QMA too (read up on it in the documentation)

using failover you failover the filesystem and bring up QMA on the other machine...

my mistake.

The scenario should

1. AppQmgr
2. QMA (active) SystemA
3. QMA(passive) SystemB
Active/Passive on AIX HACMP environment

AppQmgr connected to QMA(acitve) SystemA.

In-case of failover, QMA(passive) is activated on SystemB, then AppQmgr will encounter channel sequence problem.

How to manage this scenario with-out manual intervention.

Set up your H.A. cluster properly and there won't be a channel sequence problem.

Read this:

Read it again, then read this:
