I'm trying to start up the toolkit (on a remote machine using remote services). This usually works fine, but now I've stumbled in to this one...
When starting the toolkit, I get this message:
Another session is already running in the associated workspace.
If this is not the case, please delete the .lock file in the workspace ".metadata" directory an try again...
But, the .lock file cannot be deleted:
.. "There has been a sharing violation"..
Is this a catch22? _________________ / Boolean |

Yes. You're right. The advice in the error message is therefore not very helpful is it. |

Solved this one!
There was a disconnected remote session that held the .lock file.
Once this session was reset, I could start the toolkit again.
Guess that the best way to work remote (deploy to remote brokers) is to connect from a local toolkit, but this is not that easy to resolve. _________________ / Boolean |

That is the way Eclipse works.
You are working on a local (personal) copy of resources.
If you have to share the resources you have to use some kind of repository (a very simple one without versioning is included in the toolkit, CVS is free) and use the 'Team' functions.
As you discovered it is not possible to 'share' the workspace directory. _________________ Jan Fluitsma
