Hi I have had a mqseries failures and i have recovered the queues in question by making a file copy form the orignal machine running the queue manager.

However, i would like to retrieve the message from a week ago using the backup tapes. here is where the fun begins the backup tapes only have copires of the var/logs and var/qmgrs. when i have overlaid the backup data on to the queue manager and restarted it did not recover any messages. However when i look at the queue files iself i can see the messages in it.

How can i get manipulate the mqseries implementation to reposition itself to retreive those messages.

btw the mqseries environment uses circular logging . have not been able to use the recover fro media command.
