I am experiencing an unusual behavior in Neon rules processing since we upgraded from MQI 1.1 to WMQI 2.1. Details for error are;
. One inbound message satisfies two different Rules, say A and B, for a given Message Type.
. Rule A has one subscription, say A1, with Put Queue action
. Rule B has two subscriptions, say B1 and B2. B1 has only a Put Queue action while B2 has two actions, Reformat and Put Queue.
. Msgflow processes the message and makes a put for subscriptions A1.
. Next, puts for subscription B1 and B2 are unsuccessful because Reformat action for subscription B2 fails and message is put to failure queue.
. In the end, 1 message remains on output queue for subscription A1 and 1 message remains on failure queue for subscription B1 and B2.
My understanding was that a message is processed successfully only if all the subscriptions are satisfied. And that it should fail even if one subscription fails, so it is something like "All or None" puts. In MQI 1.1 rules were behaving fine i.e. "All or None".
I am looking for any explanation to this behavior. Also wondering are there any settings that I am overlooking or is this suppose to be the actual behavior of WMQI 2.1. I would appreciate any help that you guys can provide.
TIA
Neinie

Neini,
if I understand you correctly:
with MQI 1.1 none of the messages went through and
now with WSMQI 2.1 one message goes to the output queue and others fail.
Is this correct?
Michael
PS I don't know how many people are still on MQI 1.1, but moving from MQI 1.1 to WSMQI 2.1 (I assume you went to CSD5???)
is like getting from your first world-war double deck propellor plane into let's say...
an F-104 starfighter... which still leaves room for WBI MB V5 to grow... |
