Can anyone explain to me why maxhandles is not configurable in the mq.ini file (let me know if it is and just not documented in the sys admin guide) but it does seem to be configurable from a tool like mqseries explorer - right click on the queue manager and there are various attributes you can change but those changes are not reflected in the mq.ini file. Where are these configurations kept, can they only be maintained through psc commands or a tool like mqseries explorer?

Put the cursor in the field and hit f1 for help. MaxHandles for example maps to the MAXHANDS, and these are stored in the object catalog alongside the qmgr record - You can use runmqsc, dis qmgr maxhands to view them for example.

Other settings are in the registry, which is laid out almost identically to the MQ Unix ini files
