I need to change the data source userid that we specified when we created our V2.1 broker on W2K and AIX. The mqsichangebroker command has an option to change the data source password but no option to change the userid. I noticed on W2K that the data source userid is in the registry and on AIX its in a file in /var/wmqi/registry/BROKER_NAME/DataSourceUserId.

Is it safe to edit the W2K registry and the AIX file and then run the mqsichangebroker -p command to reset the password? Has anyone out there done this successfully, the last thing I want to do is delete/recreate the broker.

I used the same strategy to change the lilpath. I tried to modify /var/wmqi/registry/BROKER_NAME/LilPath. It did not work.
I ended up using mqsichangebroker command to change the lil path.
