Has anyone succesfully applied the Value Constraint 'pattern...' to an MRM element ?

I have defined a regular expression as an Element Value with the value [C] then assigned it as a pattern to an element but the field/element concerned parses even when the value is other than 'C'

Have you enabled validation in your message flow? ('Validation' tab in the MQInput node properties).

If an element in your input message violates a Value Constraint it will still be parsed. If validation is enabled, the violation will be reported in a parsing exception.
