Was wondering if anyone knew of a good online or cd-rom based training course for mqseries application programming.
Thank you |

Well from IBM traning there appear to be several courses on CD. Follow the links to the relevant roadmap from here - the choice is Java/JMS or other APIs.
This link is for the UK, but there are related links to worldwide training.

Of course, there are bound to be other providers... |

Thanks.
I looked at the us site and there are 3 cdroms dealing with apis etc. I will get one of them.
Do you have any pointers to cdroms for Architectural type issues. As in design etc.
Thx |

There are a few documents in the online repository on this site that you can look at.
You should also be able to find some good design documents among IBM's redbooks: http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/ _________________ Brandon Duncan

Ok people,
I am leaving my comments on this site as promised.
Pros:
1) Ease of use. I did this course at my own time after my work sitting at home.
2) Though it took me a couple of classes to figure out what was going on, but by the end of the sessions, i realized that there was hardly any difference from a classroom session and this online session. Except for the cost of course.
3) The instructor seem to be very friendly and knowledgable. And the sessions were relatively friendly and educative.
4) The content also seemed quite excellent and the amount covered within such a short span was as much as would have been covered at any classroom course.
Cons:
1) Though the course seemed quite informative, it did not cover things in-depth. But again, a course that goes for 3 hours a day for 9 days, i would not expect to cover everything.
2) This course is not really to groom you for a certification, though i think i am relatively confident of taking my cert.
I took the MQ admin course.
I would give it a 8/10. And since there was 100% refund, i took my chance.
I tried to post this message because i am new into MQ and i thought many others like me who would like to know and learn MQ, my experience might help them. Good luck.
