I want to know when we say EAI tool, what does that mean in context to MQSeries.
I have worked on MQSeries ,sending and receiveing messages from base Java Classes and also using JMS BUT (HERE IS THE DOUBT) so can i say that i know EAI tool "called MQ Series"..
Im basically not very well able to understand what is a EAI tool means...
I have also heard of some thing called "MQSeries Intergrator".Is that different from MQSeries and if yes thats the difference.
If what i have worked on (jms+messeging) is different thne EAI tools then can any one tellme in nut shell the difference between the two.
Also can iuse this formula
SOAP+JMS+XML+MQSERIES=EAI TOOL
Again if this formula is wrong then which IBM product is an EAI tool.
Im asking this because people in market these days ask if u know EAI tools i dont know what to answer so i thought to ask here...
Hope some one can answer me this..!
Thanks

You can get some good definitions for EAI from Google using search criteria:
Quote: |
define:Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) |
Here is one of these definitions:
Quote: |
The integration of two or more enterprise systems' processes, software, standards, and hardware, allowing them to operate as one. |
MQSeries, MQSeries Integrator, MQSeries Workflow are the most known IBM products that support EAI
MQSeries - recommended for communication between different systems
MQSeries Integrator - recommended for data transformation between different systems
MQSeries Workflow - recommended for long-running business process workflows as they interact with systems and people
And of course, WebSphere Application Server is getting a more and more important role in the EAI implementations. |

A few more comments:
MQSeries experience - I would say experience with the well known communication/transport product recommended and used by IBM for EAI.
JMS experience - I would say experience with the standard enterprise messaging Java API for EAI.
But I believe there is no such formula
SOAP+JMS+XML+MQSERIES=EAI TOOL
An EAI application can be implemented using none of, some of, all or more than SOAP+JMS+XML+MQSERIES
I wish you luck with the people in the market. |
