I am trying to upgrade to CSD02 on Windows 2000. Applied DB2 8.1 FP3 first with no apparent problems and then installed CSD02. Apparently a clean install, so then went ahead as per the ReadMe, rebuilt the projects (Defect 34555) and then addressed the plugin level bug (Defect 34930). Workbench appears OK. However I have broker problems. The broker runs on Windows also and at present the execution groups are failing to start:
Quote: |
File 'C:\Program Files\IBM\WBIMB\bin\imbdfagg.lil' could not be loaded; operating system return code '127'.
The message broker detected the loadable implementation file 'C:\Program Files\IBM\WBIMB\bin\imbdfagg.lil' but this could not be loaded by the operating system. The operating system return code was '127'.
|
:is appearing for imbjplug, imbdfws, imbdfsql and imbdfagg, for various execution groups depending upon flow functionality presumably. In addition I get:
Quote: |
Failure to locate Java class com/ibm/broker/plugin/MbException
The Java class com/ibm/broker/plugin/MbException could not be found by the Java API framework.
This is an internal error. Contact your IBM support center.

I have made the changes suggested in the earlier CSD02 thread (by MichaelDag), and checked CLASSPATH and PATH variables, so far without success. In the meantime, while I continue to try to solve this, has anyone come across these or similar symptoms? I suspect that PATH and CLASSPATH repairs are needed.
Unfortunately it appears that the CSD cannot be backed out. Alterenatives are therefore to:
1. Reinstall the CSD over the top of the existing install (which will probably fail).
2. Reinstall WBIMB 5 (base, CSD01, CSD02) with no guarantee that the problems will be fixed.
3. Contact IBM Support....which will be my next step if I cannot work it out.
Any suggestions therefore would be most welcome! |

Tony,
Seeing some of the problems with CSD02, I did a clean install from scratch. Have not run into any problems.
One potential cause may be environment variables on the windows platform, I believe they have a maximum length of 256 characters. To avoid any problems, I have different classpath environment variables for each product I have installed, and then I concatenate them to form the CLASSPATH.
Cheers,

Thanks for suggestions, Jonathan...so far has not been a pleasant experience.....no readily apparent way so far to get around the broker problems, and 'backing out' the service upgrade, as per the WBIMB Help, has made matters worse. CSD02 requires one to rebuild projects, and also to reimport projects if the plugin environment has not been successfully upgraded (refer the 'Readme'), but it is not clear what effect this may have if one de-installs and then re-installs CSD01. Am currently reinstalling from scratch...despite doing all the RTFMing I could find. |

I ran into the same .lil issue when I tried to go from CSD01 to CSD02. It turned out that I had downloaded the incorrect CSD. I was using U200208, the CSD for WBI Event Broker, instead of U200209 the correct CSD for the WBI Message Broker. Unfortunately in order to correct my mistake I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the entire message broker. |
