Hi
I was reading the installation guide for unix installations. It said that the databse location is /var/fmc/rt_db/db2inst/FMCDB. (DB2 database)
In case of a 3-tier configuration the file systems /var/fmc is on the server box.
So how do i mention where to place the database ( i.e the table spaces , log files etc; ) on the original database box.

Probably i am not too clear about these things.
I would appreciate if somebody can explain.

Thanks
Karthik

In the installation guide
For UNIX in
Enter information for a DB2 Runtime database section

In STEP6:
1. This is the local directory (I mean the directoy on the Workflow server machine)
2, 3 & 4 are where the DB will be created on the DataBase machine. Whatever values you specify here, that directory should already be created. Your DB2 DBA will probably want to put it in a specific location. If you have a choice of putting wherever you want then you can put it in any directory but that directory should already be created and config utitliy will not be able to create the directory for you.

For STEP6 read clearly what it says and it should be clear.
This is from the manual
Quote:
For a three-tier setup, or if you do not want to use the default directories, these
directories must exist on the machine hosting the Runtime database, and the DB2
instance on the machine hosting the Runtime database must be authorized to access these
directories. For more information, see the IBM DB2 Administration Getting Started online
manual.
